California-based network security provider Fortinet launched a new threat management system, the Fortigate Unified Threat Management with FortiWifi and FortiPresence analytics.

"The launch of Fortinet's new Connected UTM appliances accelerates the company's long-term vision for a secure and connected environment for retailers, and other distributed enterprises," said Tamir Hardof, vice president of product marketing for Fortinet, in a company announcement. "With increased integration between Fortinet's UTM features, wireless access points and analytics software, distributed enterprises with limited resources can streamline complex network management tasks, improve security and better understand customer behavior, enabling greater profitability for their businesses."

Fortinet's new Connected UTM appliances include:

  • FortiGate-60D-3G4G-VZW;
  • FortiWiFi-60D-3G4G-VZW;
  • FortiGate-70D, FortiGate-80D; and
  • FortiGate-94D-POE.

The products are designed to allow companies to maintain regulatory compliance and analyze customer behavior. Fortinet's solution integrates "security features with Wi-Fi access point control, endpoint management and policy control" into a single appliance, the company said.

The Connected UTM is also intended for secure implementation of new technologies such as digital signage, kiosk systems and wireless POS, the company said.
