Epson, a projector brand, is partnering with Vivi, a software provider for the classroom environment, to simplify wireless screen mirroring in educational environment.

The Epson-Vivi solution is aimed at helping educators bring concepts to life in real time and supports an integrated solution for the K-12 learning environment, according to a customer case study.

The solution allows teachers to untether from the front of the room and enables students to share content, capture screenshots of the teacher's display, annotate and interact collaboratively.

"Vivi and Epson share a similar mission to make teaching more impactful, and learning more immersive," Natalie Mactier, CEO, Vivi, said in a press release. "The combination of Vivi's screen mirroring solution and Epson's vibrant projection, allows schools to easily modernize instruction without adding complexity."

Vivi and Epson worked together to help schools simplify AV IT ecosystems. Epson's range of 3-chip 3LCD projectors – from interactive displays to high-lumen options – when paired with Vivi's wireless screen sharing, digital signage, communication and safety tools, offers a solution that supports immersive learning and turns nearly any lesson, or space, into a multi-sensory experience.

"With Vivi's intuitive interface and Epson's vibrant projection technology, classrooms become collaborative, connected and ready for the future," Remi Del Mar, group product manager, Epson America, Inc., said in the release. "Together, we aim to empower teachers to effortlessly share content, adapt lessons on the fly and easily engage students."

Grand Rapids Public Schools have used Epson short throw projectors and wired document cameras along with other lighting and audio technologies and provided instructor training on how to use the Vivi app with Microsoft Surface Pros. The results significantly outperformed the previous solution, leading to an expansion from 23 classrooms to full district-wide deployment of 1,200 Vivi units.
