E Ink aims for colorful, sustainable DOOH in Kaleido 3 launch

E Ink Corporation has announced the launch of its Kaleido 3 line of ePaper displays, which are designed for DOOH with dynamic color, according to a press release.
The system features 4,096 colors and is designed for a wide temperature range to make it suitable for a variety of climates and use cases (-15°C to 65°C, or 5°F to 149°F). Sizes range from 13.3 to 42 inches.
Designed for low power consumption, the system aims to make colorful DOOH possible with low energy use, and the launch in part aims to help with the European strictures on outdoor advertising and energy use.
"In the global trend towards low-carbon and sustainable digital development, ePaper's ultra-low power consumption and non-light pollution characteristics make it the best display solution for outdoor advertising signage," F.Y. Gan, president of E Ink Holdings, said in the release. "Building on E Ink Kaleido's technology, E Ink has dedicated itself to developing wide-temperature color ePaper technology suitable for outdoor applications, which can meet customers' expectations for dynamic display, energy saving, environmental protection and non-light pollution in outdoor advertising."
