LONDON — Digital View has introduced a low-cost method for synchronizing media players used in digital signage applications. The new product offers an easy and inexpensive way to synchronize content across multiple non-networked screens to produce sophisticated display effects, such as simulated animation.
Designed to provide synchronized master timing for installations using multiple units of various Compact Flash and Web-based media players manufactured by Digital View, the Synchronizer Unit has an internal clock that is graduated in units of 5 seconds up to a maximum time of 8000 seconds (2 hours 13 minutes). Once the clock is set for the desired time interval it will then repeat continuously generating an event trigger each time the interval expires. This event trigger causes the content on the synchronized players to resynchronize either by advancing to a common track or following a playlist instruction.
