Digital signs, mobile phones make high-tech concierge

June 23, 2010

PSAV Presentations Services today unveiled a dynamic Touch Concierge navigational system at the Hospitality Industry Technology Exposition & Conference that gives hotel guests access to restaurants, nightlife, shopping, local events and services in the surrounding area. Once the desired information is located, guests can upload the data, along with directions, to their mobile devices.

"Today it's easy for everyone to be a hotel concierge," Denis Lesak, corporate director of digital signage services at PSAV, said in a press release. "We see many of our hotel partners able to expand the number of hotel employees able to provide knowledgeable assistance about the surrounding area by engaging touchscreen concierge services side-by-side with their guests. With Touch Concierge, visitors certainly will get a kick out of having information and directions sent to their cell phone. It's a nice way to give guests what they are looking for quickly and easily."

Touch Concierge is being made available to all hotels, regardless if they use PSAV as their preferred event and entertainment technology provider. The units can be either self-installed or professionally installed by PSAV's nationwide installation team. Touchscreens are available starting at 23-103 inches or larger, and can be framed with many decorative options to match the décor of virtually any setting. Touch Concierge is available in recessed, flush, pole supported, free-standing or mobile-stand mounting options.

"We believe that HITEC attendees will be just as excited about Touch Concierge as we are," said Digby Davies, PSAV CEO. "This system is yet another representation of how PSAV is bringing better ideas and better technologies to hotels, associations, event producers and meeting planners around the world."
