Digital signage warns of zombies, tanks

March 21, 2011

According to The Herald in Rock Hill, S.C., roadside digital signs near the North Carolina-South Carolina state line recently were tampered with to warn passing motorists of zombies and tanks.

Two electronic road signs, of the sort usually used to warn motorists of upcoming obstructions or road work, were tampered with by unknown pranksters over a recent weekend. One sign was set to read "Zombies Ahead" and then change to "Watch for Hunters," while across the road, another sign warned motorists to "Be alert for Tanks."

According to another story about the prank on WCBD-TV in Charleston, S.C., "there have been no reports of zombies. Or tanks."
