Digital signage a part of Iowa's Virginia Gay Hospital expansion

October 20, 2009

As part of an overall expansion and refurbishing project consisting of two phases, digital signage will play a role in extending education and community-focused information to Virginia Gay Hospital located in Benton County, Iowa.

The hospital will feature a five-unit digital signage network provided by local business Ovation Interactive. Ovation is working closely with respective department and administrative leaders to plan, design and develop original content for display on the signage network. Services Ovation is providing include hardware/software provisioning, content consultation, interviews, site photography, design, animation and installation.

The $8.5 million expansion of Virginia Gay Hospital, which began in the summer of 2008, includes over $2 million in community support generated through the "Commitment to Caring" capital campaign. Additions of 20,000-square feet have been made to the facility.

The open house celebrating the completion of phase one of the project is scheduled for Thursday, Oct. 22 as Acute Care, Emergency, Imaging Services and Rehabilitative Services complete the move into their new spaces. Construction and remodeling for phase two will continue through summer 2010. Additional enhancements will include a MRI unit, a sleep study suite and refurbishing of the cardiac rehab suite. This phase addresses renovation of 20,000 square feet of existing space.
