Contest aims to change 'digital mindset' in Pakistan
September 26, 2010
According to Pakistan's The Express Tribune, a Pakistani digital media firm has launched a competition aimed at changing the perception of digital media and inculcating a grassroots ‘digital mindset' in the country.
Symmetry Digital has started the Digital Minds competition, an industry initiative spanning the next two months, targeting young people in Karachi in hopes that the students can act as catalysts for the promotion of digital marketing when they graduate from universities and join the workforce.
Digital media in Pakistan — from Internet to mobile to digital out-of-home — is still a miniscule part of the country's marketing mix.
DOOH platforms, including interactive LED screens and augmented digital kiosks, are almost unheard of in Pakistan the article says. Digital Minds aims to fill the void by offering participants the opportunity to design innovative marketing plans that are either solely based on digital media or rely on it heavily.
