ClearOne gains patent for ceiling microphone array

ClearOne has gained U.S. Patent 10,728,653 for its Ceiling Tile Microphone. This microphone features beamforming, acoustic echo cancellation and adaptive acoustic processing that can automatically adjust to a room's configuration, according to a press release.

ClearOne has been building a group of patents related to microphones including ones that cover over ceiling tile and wall tile embodiments of beamforming microphone arrays, as well as augmentation of beamforming microphone arrays with non-beamforming microphones.

The company aims to use this patent to further reinforce its position as a market leader in the A/V space, according to the release.
