ClearOne earns patent for echo cancellation

The U.S. Patent and Trademark Office has awarded ClearOne, an A/V provider, with patent number 9,854,101 for beamforming and echo cancellation, according to a press release.

The patent is entitled "Methods and apparatuses for echo cancellation with beamforming microphone arrays," and it covers a method for performing these tasks using "a director of arrival determination to select which beamformed signals to transmit," according to the release.
