The National Summer Learning Association, promoting accessible learning for children, has taken over Clear Channel Outdoor digital billboards, featuring Game Builder Garage for Nintendo Switch, to celebrate National Learning Week, according to a press release.

The outdoor campaign calls on parents and students to go to DiscoverSummer.org, developed in response to COVID-19, to help families find local summer programs, summer meals, parent tips and resources to keep kids learning, safe and healthy this season.

Clear Channel Outdoor will support the project by running OOH messages across its 2,000 digital displays throughout the summer. The partnership incorporates the fun of learning after a pandemic year that has seen families struggle with isolation, digital deserts, childcare, food insecurities and academic setbacks, according to the press release.

"This summer will be more important than ever in helping our nation's young people recharge, heal, reconnect with peers and rediscover the joy of learning," Aaron Dworkin, NSLA CEO, said in the release.

In Game Builder Garage, kids can go hands-on with interactive, step-by-step lessons that introduce the basics of visual game programming, according to the release.

"We are proud to partner with NSLA and Nintendo of America in this powerfully visible way to help direct families to vital programs in their community to keep their kids learning all summer long," Dan Levi, EVP and CMO, Clear Channel Outdoor and NSLA board member, said in the release. "Never before has the need for educational equity been greater among our nation's most disadvantaged youth. Locally supported community programs are making a significant difference in closing the achievement gap."

Clear Channel Outdoor Holdings has more than 17,000 digital displays internationally and more than 1,400 digital billboards in the U.S. Clear Channel Outdoor Holdings, founded in 2001, is headquartered in San Antonio, Texas.
The National Summer Learning Association, established in 2009, is based in Washington, D.C.
