Crystal Display Systems has launched a new "square" display that has met "with great interest as other major companies have made their square mosaic displays end of life," the company said.

The 27.3-inch diagonal resized LCD has a brightness of 1,000 cd (nits), with high-bright white LED backlight designed to make it suitable for most applications including outside sunlight-readable applications and store windows. It has a resolution (number of pixels) of 945 by 1080 and an aspect ratio of 8:9.

The display will be showcased in Hall 8 at this year's Integrated Systems Europe in Amsterdam, the company said.
