Big Outdoor expands DOOH footprint in NYC’s Times Square

Big Outdoor has expanded its digital-out-of-home footprint in Times Square, New York City, with a dual-faced wedge display along the E Walk retail corridor on West 42nd Street.

The LED display features an 8 mm pixel pitch powered by SNA Display's Empire Exterior line of outdoor Led video technology, according to a press release.

Big Outdoor owns and operates the digital asset and manages all media sales and content scheduling.

"The addition of this new dual-faced display further expands Big Outdoor's DOOH presence in the Times Square area while continuing to build on our strong partnership with E Walk," Bill Tagliaferri, president of Big Outdoor, said in the release. "Positioned along one of Manhattan's busiest roadways, the unit gives brands a powerful opportunity to connect with audiences traveling in both directions, while perfectly complementing our 42nd Street Digital Domination and our broader portfolio throughout New York City."

The E Walk DOOH platform faces 42nd St. and is surrounded by three other SNA Displays LED spectaculars, one at Target Times Square and two at the intersection of 42nd and 8th .

The sides of the new large-format video screen come to a point that protrudes slightly from the building's façade over the Dallas BBQ restaurant, giving it extended read times for auto and pedestrian traffic.

"We've worked with BIG Outdoor on numerous projects in Times Square and beyond," Pete Simon, director of out-of-home sales for SNA Displays, said in the release. "This partnership has resulted in some truly impressive digital out-of-home projects that get a great deal of attention from the OOH advertising industry.
