Baanto International unveils touch frame

Baanto International Ltd. has launched the next generation of its ShadowSense Pro touch technology. This technology adds multi-touch and inking abilities to large displays, according to a press release.

The ShadowSense Pro's touch frame is 25 percent thinner than the previous generation. It also features low latency and accurate shape and size detection. Other features include:

• Lowered optical plane so it can rest directly on glass surface.
• Ability to track quick movements in lopographic writing systems like Japanese and Chinese.
• Ability to control a display's power, volume, input source or communicate with external systems.
• Can be used with Baanto's improved pen and eraser.

"The simplicity and familiarity of writing on a traditional whiteboard has made it very difficult to supplant as the centerpiece of the boardroom. We believe that with the release of ShadowSense Pro we've closed the gap tremendously and will continue to make strides toward advancing interactive whiteboards and flat panel displays until they're the new standard for presenting, collaborating and communicating," Avanindra Utukuri, CEO and CTO of Baanto, said in the release.
