Australian martech startup Lumos is rolling out car-top DOOH digital signage across Sydney and Melbourne in a move aiming to leverage transportation, mobile engagement and the power of programmatic advertising, according to a report from AdNews.

The Lumos Car Top display solution brings high-resolution ad programming to the top of rideshare vehicles, such as Uber rides, and is designed as a companion to the Lumos Smart Bags line of digital advertising displays on bicycle food delivery bags; both lines of ad displays incorporate Internet of Things technology to power the LED smart screen displays.

The screen network integrates with Lumos' proprietary audience intelligence engine to convert data into usable information, including campaign analytics and KPI like ROI. The company plans to roll out 100 car-top screens by Q2 2023 and anticpates having 500 total active screens across Sydney and Melbourne by the end of the year.

"We are thrilled to launch our digital car top network and provide advertisers with a new way to reach their target audience," Eric Fan, CEO at Lumos, said in the report. "With the OOH market growing at a rapid pace, we believe that the timing is perfect for LUMOS and our digital Car Top network to make a significant impact."
