Atlona unveils multi-channel audio converter

Atlona recently unveiled its AT-HDR-M2C-QUAD multi-channel audio converter. This tool can extract, decode and downmix PCM, Dolby and DTS audio from four HDMI sources at the same time, according to a press release.

Atlona's converter enables simpler integration of multiple HDMI audio sources into distributed audio systems. The device can also handle HDR-enhanced 4K signals at 60 Hertz with 4:4:4 chroma sampling. Other features include:

• Rack-mountable unit
• Can de-embed HDMI audio without being connected to a display
• HDCP 2.2 compliant
• Can handle all video resolutions, audio formats and color spaces in the HDMI 2.0b specification
• Backed by a 10-year warranty.

"End-users and integrators have found the HDR-M2C to be ideal for de-embedding and downmixing individual sources, but many customers need to process audio from several HDMI inputs at once," Joshua Castro, product manager, Atlona, said in the release. "The HDR-M2C-QUAD packs the core capabilities of four HDR-M2C units into a single, space-efficient device, delivering multi-channel downmixing for multiple simultaneous sources while simplifying installation and power requirements."
