Atlona develops 4K HDMI over HDBaseT Extender

Atlona has launched its AT-HDR-EX-70-2PS transmitter/receiver kit for 4K HDMI signals over HDBaseT. This extender is built to offer latency-free and "virtually lossless" compression to provide clear image quality, according to a press release.

Atlona's extender can extend 108-p video up to 230 feet and 4K content up to 130 feet. It can also transport 4K signals at 60 Hertz with 4:4:4 chroma sampling over CAT6a or CAT7 cable. Other features include:

  • Supports all video resolutions and audio formats.
  • Can pass metadata for HDR content.
  • Supports HDMI data rates up to 18GB per second.
  • Can be used as part of a larger 4K HDR system.
