Alertus Technologies, an emergency mass notification solutions provider, has integrated its communication and alerting technology with messaging platforms Microsoft Teams, Slack, and Google Chat, according to a company press release.

The integrations are available to customers as part of Alertus' 2021 Summer Software Release, which features additional integrations for organizational alerting, security enhancements, and more.

Alertus' integrations with Microsoft Teams, Slack, and Google Chat are designed to deliver alerts — for both emergencies and routine communications — to their employees' chat channels from the Alertus System using customizable formatting, images, and action buttons.

"Business communication platforms have transformed workplace communications, offering enhanced accessibility, efficiency, and productivity for employers and employees," Amanda Sassano, senior director of commercial sales and partnerships at Alertus, said in the release. "We've seen a global trend, greatly accelerated by COVID-19, away from a heavy volume of emails and toward more immediate forms of messaging which are harder to miss. Ideal for organizations with remote or hybrid-remote work environments, Alertus' new integrations with Microsoft Teams, Slack, and Google Chat allow employers to instantly reach employees, whether they are on-the-go or at their desks, with important and potentially life-saving information."

Customers with access to Slack Enterprise Grid can create a Slack channel that can be used by authorized users to communicate alerts to employees.

By unifying communication systems and devices — including business communications platforms, desktop computers, speakers, digital signage, and VoIP phones — and the emergency notification process under an integrated mass notification system, organizations can activate alerts to each endpoint simultaneously.

Founded in 2002 at the University of Maryland, Alertus engineers innovative emergency communications systems for colleges and universities, K-12 schools, corporations, medical centers, military bases, and government organizations.
