AirFuel Alliance, a global coalition focused on advancing wireless power technology, has added E Ink, a electronic ink technology provider, to its board. E Ink's technology allows companies to deploy low power displays with ink textures, according to a press release.
Through this partnership, E Ink can pair wireless power with its displays to create battery free devices for a variety of verticals such as smart city, digital signage and retail.
"The access to wireless power technology offered through the AirFuel Alliance will support E Ink's displays to not only be the leader in the electronic paper market, but to better the digital world with paperless solutions," Johnson Lee, president of E Ink Holdings Inc., said in the release. "We strive to diversify ePaper applications that lighten power and paper consumption, contributing to environmental sustainability."
