Adspace, Panasonic team for mall network

NEW YORK — Adspace Networks Inc. has teamed with Panasonic to provide Adspace Mall Network properties with high-definition digital-advertising plasma displays called "Smart Screens."
Adspace Networks, owner of the in-mall digital-video advertising network, is located throughout 52 upscale shopping malls in 19 top U.S. markets.
According to a news release, the deal with Panasonic calls for the installation of865 Panasonic plasma panels nationwide in 625 new Smart Screen displays.
Installations began at the Neshaminy Mall in Philadelphia in early April 2007 and will be completed throughout the remainder of the 53 malls by October 2007.
Most of the new units will measure 65 inches and will have a 1080-pixel resolution — giving the new Smart Screens state-of-the-art high-definition delivery and 17 percent more viewing area than the previous Smart Screen model.
