AccuWeather launches TV-quality content for digital signage

March 2, 2008

STATE COLLEGE, Pa. — AccuWeather.com has announced the availability of a new suite of high-resolution, TV-quality weather and news content for digital signage. The company said the new look will attract additional attention and increase viewership for digital signage displays, helping digital signage companies enhance the value of their screens and advertising platforms.
The new TV-quality content draws on 36 years of AccuWeather experience in the broadcast arena, and is designed in response to industry demand for programming to match what viewers expect on their home television sets. The AccuWeather.com content for digital signage offers the same photo-realistic, animated weather icons, forecasts and indices seen on broadcast TV news sources nationwide. The high-resolution graphics and videos are available in a variety of customizable formats and multiple delivery methods to accommodate all major display platforms, and are fully licensed for digital signage applications.

"Our new, dynamic look will bring more attention to screens, leading to more eyeballs on our customers' advertisements and a reduction in perceived wait times," said Scott Homan, director for Out-of-Home Digital Media with AccuWeather. "The bottom line: increased walk-in traffic for incremental sales."
