Diversified technology company 3M will exhibit the latest addition to its multitouch HD digital signage display product line at this year's Integrated Systems Europe show, Jan. 29-31, 2013, at the Amsterdam RAI, according to a company announcement.
Stand highlights include the first prototype 46-inch multitouch chassis display, alongside the recently launched 32-inch model, plus a range of dual-touch chassis displays and high performance desktop monitors, the company said.
The addition of the 46-inch chassis display extends 3M's Projected Capacitive Technology further into the mainstream of large format displays and offers new, creative opportunities for designers and systems integrators, combining 60-finger multitouch capabilities with an ultrawide viewing angle and high-definition 1080p LCD display, according to 3M.
As with the existing 32-inch multitouch display chassis from 3M, the 46-inch prototype provides a high-performance, ultraslim and lightweight display for collaborative and interactive applications. Both offer a ruggedized, open-frame design allowing easy integration into kiosks, enclosures or tabletop applications.
All models in the Multi-Touch Chassis Display range use 3M Multi-Touch Technology to provide ultra-fast and accurate response. The 46-inch 3M Multi-Touch Display C4667PW chassis from 3M is capable of tracking 60 simultaneous touch events at less than 12 millisecond response speed with palm rejection, while the 32-inch tracks 40 simultaneous touches with a 10 ms response time. These full multitouch LFDs are designed to help create a more natural interactive experience for users seeking an enlarged touch area or applications for multiple users. The display's anti-stiction surface further enhances users' experience by enabling their fingers to glide across the glass surface while maintaining positive contact with the screen.
Both the Multi-Touch Display C4667PW and Multi-Touch Display C3266PW chassis from 3M offer an ultra-wide 178-degree viewing angle (horizontal/vertical) for off-axis viewing and multi-user table configurations. The 32-inch display's thin profile metal chassis housing is 2.6 inches (66.8 mm) deep with a 200 mm VESA mounting pattern and offers a metal bezel for a finished appearance that can be removed for integration into flat front surface tables and walls.
These latest large-format multitouch displays will be exhibited alongside the company's 21.5-inch and 27-inch plug-and-play Multi-Touch Desktop Displays offering high-definition graphics, wide viewing angles and 20-touch multitouch performance.
Also on the stand are 15-inch, 17-inch and 19-inch Dual-Touch Chassis Display models from 3M, specifically designed for kiosk and enclosure integration. The displays feature a modern, flat front surface design and enable designers to easily migrate existing single-touch applications to a dual-touch gesture interface found in popular smartphone and tablet devices today. In addition, the chemically-strengthened glass and anti-glare treatment are intended to support heavy-use public applications while maintaining the kiosk's functional, optical and aesthetic characteristics.
