TOPAZ Digital today announced that, following a successful 6-month trial, installation has now begun with the CO-OP taxi line in Edmonton, which on completion will see more than 500 cars receive a TOPAZ digital signage solution.

A TOPAZ 7-inch display connected to the TOPAZ CMS Media player will be installed in each car, designed to ensure that  updates can be pushed to the screen remotely and controlled from anywhere in the world, no matter the car's location.

TOPAZ Digital CEO Christopher Stammers wrote in the announcement: "For us digital signage is not a 'one size fits all' scenario. We are passionate about creating solutions for our customers, and this is a great example where we have created a fully customized solution that meets the specific needs and challenges of our customer."

The digital signage is being installed to enhance the passengers' experience when travelling with CO-OP, intended to provide engaging and informative content for the journey while offering third-party advertising in partnership with local media company Impact Ads to deliver customer-related advertising during the average 20-minute dwell time while generating an additional revenue stream to the taxi line.

CO-OP Taxi General Manager Uday Kumar said his firm is "excited about this new partnership with TOPAZ Digital and Impact Ads and see this as a great service to our customers moving forward. When selecting a technical partner it was important for us to partner with a solutions orientated company that could develop a custom solution that fits our specific needs whilst ensuring there were no recurring costs."
