Cieslok Media, a Canadian outdoor advertising firm, announced a partnership with the Ontario AMBER Alert Program in support of AMBER Alerts, according to a company press release. This agreement leverages Cieslok Media's network of digital screens situated in high-impact, high-traffic locations across Toronto.
The AMBER Alert program is designed to assist in the safe recovery of abducted children by broadcasting alerts across various mediums. The addition of Cieslok Media's digital screens as an AMBER Alert broadcasting medium will add to the reach of an alert at critical times.
"A few years ago, an arrangement like this would not be conceivable, but with the advent of digital signage and advanced capabilities, our Digital Out-of-Home network is well positioned to instantly broadcast AMBER Alerts, that reach a large captivated audience, and help recover an abducted child," said Jörg Cieslok, president and CEO of Cieslok Media. "In an ideal world, AMBER alerts would not be needed, but until then, it is a privilege to assist this program through our assets and technology."
AMBER Alerts have been used by law enforcement in Canada for over 10 years and have assisted police in many successful child recoveries. With Cieslok Media as a participant, AMBER Alerts will be broadcasted to Cieslok Media digital screens across Toronto at locations such as the Yonge-Dundas Square, the Gardiner Express Way, Albion and Steeles, among others, the release said.
"The goal of an AMBER Alert is to broadcast relevant information through various media platforms to allow members of the public to assist in the search and safe return of an abducted child," said Inspector Robyn MacEachern, manager of Community Safety Services for the Ontario Provincial Police. "The AMBER Alert program is happy to have Cieslok Media join the other valued partners of this initiative."
