Corel Digital Signage will run on any HDMI display with Intel's Compute Stick device, company says.

March 10, 2015

Software provider Corel will showcase its Corel Digital Signage on the Intel Compute Stick, Intel's soon-to-be-released device designed to turn any HDMI display into a fully-functional computer, the company announced. Powered by SmarterSign, Corel Digital Signage is designed to help businesses create and display digital signage content in a matter of minutes. The Web-based software program allows users to showcase content such as menu boards, videos, local weather, special offers and Twitter feeds for one monthly cost, with no long-term contract. The company says that, thanks to the compatibility with the Intel Compute Stick, interactive digital signage for small businesses can be achieved in minutes, making digital display solutions more accessible for more people and businesses.

"Corel has been at the forefront of content creation for many years," said Gérard Métrailler, vice president, product management, graphics and productivity at Corel, in the announcement. "Our goal is to make creating content and marketing collateral as easy as possible on any medium. By bringing Corel Digital Signage to the Compute Stick, we are allowing more users to cut out the middle-step and go straight to displaying their signage on a television or monitor, saving them money on an additional device."

Corel and SmarterSign will showcase Corel Digital Signage on the Intel Compute Stick at the Digital Signage Expo this week. According to the announcement, it will mark the first time that a digital signage solution will be demonstrated on the Compute Stick. Used in combination with other programs such as CorelDRAW Graphics Suite and Corel VideoStudio, Corel Digital Signage is designed to offer an end-to-end, affordable content creation and delivery solution.

"We are happy to work with Corel in showcasing Corel Digital Signage on the Intel Compute Stick," said John Deatherage, director of marketing, Intel. "The two products will make digital displays more accessible for everyone. Business owners can now display their messages as efficiently as possible, without the need for a laptop or desktop computer."
