Armagard plays bodyguard for outdoor digital signage at London Olympics
Outdoor digital signage protection specialists Armagard Enclosures supplied a variety of custom and standard digital signage enclosures to protect signage and displays from the throngs crowding London venues for this year's Summer Olympic Games, according to a company announcement.
Armagard enclosures could be found in three high profile locations across London, The Mall, The Olympic Park and the newly constructed Emirates Air Line cable car.
Organizers installed eight 42-inch LCD enclosures along the famous Mall road running from Buckingham Palace to Admiralty Arch to display TV and event information during the running and cycling events.
The Olympic Park area, which was completely renovated for the 2012 Games, used five enclosures for a specialized image booth which photographed visitors with the entire Olympic stadium behind them.
And the Emirates Air Line required four large-scale custom enclosures at 105 and 165 inches, which would enclose video walls for an indoor and outdoor location, and were used to enhance the traveller's experience by providing important information, targeted promotions and messages.
