Digital menu boards bring the farm to the table
When you think of the farm, you might imagine a wide variety of freshly grown corn, carrots, lettuce, cattle and a large variety of other items. Greenleaf Gourmet Chopshop, a Southern California farm-to-table restaurant with an emphasis on fresh authentic food from responsible sources, found it difficult to digest its extensive farm menu into a readable format for customers. In order to deal with this issue, the fast casual teamed up with Embed Digital to deploy digital menu boards, according to a case study.
"Creating authentic, community-based dining experiences is what separates Greenleaf Gourmet Chopshop from other restaurants in the healthy-living marketplace," Jonathon Rolo, 'commander-in-leaf' of Greenleaf, said in a case study. The restaurant needed a menu board that fit its healthy image and "Eat well, live well," branding statement.
Embed Signage provided a six-screen ceiling mounted solution to organize Greenleaf's menu into different segments, based on the time of day. Greenleaf's menu can change on an hourly basis, so it was key for the restaurant to have a dayparting menu. The menu board also included animated carousels to cycle through the items, and a "leaf cycle" marketing element that showcased Greenleaf's dedication for local and sustainable food sourcing.
"Greenleaf's major ‘customer swells’ included happy hour and weekend brunch, so we programmed different versions of the menu to be displayed during these hours," Mike Sisco, CEO of Embed Digital, said in the release. "And since the screens are visible from a street with high foot traffic, we also programmed marketing images to be displayed during closed hours to inform and lure potential customers."
The menu boards helped reduce overall wait times, since customers could quickly examine the items. It also helped boost overall sales, according to the case study.
