John F. Kennedy International Airport serves more than 40 million passengers each year, and is the 12th busiest airport in the world. Its AirTrain system offers connections between terminals, rental car facilities, hotel shuttle areas and parking lots. The airport needed a more efficient way to communicate track and airline information to its many passengers, who spoke a wide variety of languages. Tightrope Media System's digital signage system offered a solution. The signage:

  • Uses icon-based messaging instead of text, so it can easily be read at a distance by any passenger, regardless of language
  • Can be automatically updated
  • Is available in employee break rooms
