Founded in 1976, Euro Motorcars is the leading dealer of new and pre-owned Mercedes-Benz in the Washington area and consistently ranks in the top ten dealers nationwide. In addition to Mercedes-Benz, Euro also represents Bentley and Rolls Royce. As purveyors of these brands, Euro has the benefit of having an inventory that includes some of the finest new and pre-owned vehicles in the world.
As in many other service-departments, Euro offers their customers a TV viewing area in the customer lounge as a courtesy. However, Euro wanted to further utilize this service and decided to surround the TV content with service department messaging. Service messaging represented an opportunity to discuss products and services that the dealership offers and give the customers information in a creative and pleasant manner. They understood that their customers would appreciate information on how to maintain the excellent condition of their vehicles.
Euro Motorcars wanted to use the highly effective “infotainment” concepts used in locations where audiences are captive and have to pass time. They also wanted to offer this information without hiring a large communications group specifically for this service, and they needed a system that would allow them to change content frequently and in a simple manner as possible. Ideally, Service Managers would be able to update sidebar-messaging using PowerPoint® and also produce a text-based crawler that provided details supporting the sidebar text.
Euro Motorcars turned to Helius for an integrated digital signage solution that would enable the combination of TV content with dealer-specific information. “When we were first introduced to the Helius solution, we were immediately impressed with their flexibility and willingness to do whatever it took to make us happy,” said Mr. Willard, Service Manager for Euro Motorcars.
