Times Square digital signage helps launch Wendy's T-shirt campaign

wendy's billboard in times squareDuring Wendy's investor day in New York City on Monday, the company discussed its plan to focus more strongly on marketing campaigns. At the same time down the street, a Wendy's ad was displayed on a digital billboard in the middle of Times Square encouraging people to visit Wendy's Facebook page for the launch of the company's new T-shirt design contest.

Wendy's Facebook fans have the chance to create a T-shirt design that celebrates the brand. The fan that designs the shirt with the most votes will win the grand prize of $5,000 and have their T-shirt sold in the Wendy's online store.

Proceeds from the winning T-shirt's sales will benefit the Dave Thomas Foundation for Adoption.

The fan who places second in voting will receive free Wendy's for an entire year, and 10 shirts with their design. The third place winner will receive 10 shirts with their design.

Additionally, those who vote in the T-shirt gallery will automatically be entered for a chance to win one of 20 $50 Wendy's gift cards that will be given away throughout the promotion.

Just a day into the contest, more than 7,300 designs have already been submitted. Many of the designs pay homage to Wendy's classic "Where's the Beef?" tagline from the 1980s, while others highlight the company's new Dave's Hot 'N Juicy burger line.
