SAPPHIRE Technology Ltd. announced it is showcasing a broad spectrum of digital signage solutions and professional workstation graphics at ISE14 in Amsterdam.

SAPPHIRE Technology is the exclusive global distribution partner for AMD FirePro professional graphics, according to the announcement. An international technology supplier and manufacturer, SAPPHIRE has collaborated with AMD for more than a decade, incorporating AMD technology into a broad range of products targeted to various markets.

A major focus at ISE will be the latest AMD FirePro graphics cards, which deliver workstation performance under the latest professional graphics benchmark suite, SPECViewperf12. In addition to workstation applications, the multi-output display capability of the AMD FirePro cards provides solutions in imaging, video walls and digital signage, the company said.

In the booth will be a live demonstration of a digital signage application running on six monitors driven by a single AMD FirePro W600 graphics card.

The rendering power of the AMD FirePro graphics solutions is further demonstrated in the booth of Munich-based agency Rayd, with an interactive video wall installation displaying content created in conjunction with the real-time software vendor Ventuz.

"We always use AMD graphics boards together with Ventuz when we create large video wall projects because AMD Eyefinity technology allows us to drive multiple displays in either orientation or direction," Rayd CEO Oliver Grimm said in the announcement. "Especially the new render setup manager of Ventuz4 plays perfectly together with any AMD FirePro graphics card and makes it incredibly easy to install multiscreen setups."

SAPPHIRE also offers a range of media players, based on AMD APU technology. The SAPPHIRE EDGE range of players has recently received certification from Scala Inc. for its digital signage software. The booth will feature a live demo of the SAPPHIRE VS8 mini-PC player running the Scala software.

SAPPHIRE will also be releasing a new metal-cased model in the EDGE Series. The SAPPHIRE EDGE DS8 is based on the powerful four-core Trinity A8 APU from AMD, housed in a robust, wall-mountable metal enclosure measuring only 168 mm by 235 mm by 46mm thick. It is designed for 24/7 operation in the more demanding applications of pro AV installations, POS applications and especially as a digital signage player, the company said.
