Horizon Display rolls out Black Diamond kiosk

Dec. 11, 2013

Horizon Display announced the release of its Black Diamond digital signage kiosk, which is described by the company as a supersized iPhone or iPad.

The ADA-compliant multitouch displays are designed to be intuitive to iPhone users and can be customized to function for a range of applications, such as an interactive catalog in retail or a dynamic user-responsive sign, according to a news release. The kiosks were recently deployed in Toys "R" Us stores.

"Toys R US shoppers were then able to use the kiosks to find whatever toy they were looking for together with additional information and pricing, making the shopping experience easier than ever," a Horizon Display spokesperson said in the release. "If the toy was not in stock, users could then order it from the kiosk to be delivered. The kiosks were also popular with the children themselves as a means of discovering new toys. This is just one application of this highly adaptable tool."
