DSE13: Signagelive integrates support for Samsung smart digital signage

Feb. 26, 2013

Global digital signage specialist Signagelive has integrated support for Samsung's system-on-chip technology into its core management software (written in HTML5), and is offering full screen and content support for Samsung's new lineup of Smart Signage displays.

Signagelive will be demonstrating its intuitive management software and showcasing a range of newly-developed plug-and-play applications for the quick-service restaurant, retail, education and private enterprise markets in the Samsung booth at Digital Signage Expo, Feb. 27 and 28 at the Las Vegas Convention Center. Signagelive integrated software facilitates content scheduling, nested playlists, local and remote user management on new range of Samsung SoC displays. Signagelive and Samsung will be presenting at the show a joint seminar on the Smart Signage platform on Wednesday, Feb. 27 at 11 a.m.

Signagelive will also be demonstrating its ability to support different content formats including rolling images, nested playlists, video streaming, IPTV, third-party websites and media RSS feeds on all Samsung Smart Signage displays, irrespective of screen size.

Samsung's new Smart Signage products and Signagelive's cloud-based management software eliminate the need for an onsite digital media player, resulting in significant cost savings, according to the two companies. The new displays also are expected to reduce power consumption considerably, enabling organizations to lower their carbon footprint and adopt greener working practices.

Signagelive CEO Jason Cremins said in the announcement, "We are delighted to be working closely with Samsung on their Smart Signage solution. Our portfolio of end-user applications and templates and our ability to support different content formats on multiple screen sizes will allow Samsung channel partners to promote the company's new range of Smart Signage products as a turnkey solution to end-users."

Samsung formally announced its collaboration with Signagelive at a press conference in Amsterdam on Jan. 29 at Integrated Systems Europe.
