DSA hosting digital signage 'Expert Advice Zone' at 2010 SGIA Expo

Aug. 5, 2010
The Digital Screenmedia Association (DSA) is set to host the DSA Digital Signage Zone at this year's Specialty Graphic Imaging Association (SGIA) Expo.
The 2010 SGIA Expo is scheduled for Oct. 13-15 in Las Vegas, and the DSA Digital Zone will be an "Expert Advice Zone" to give attendees the opportunity to examine the process of dynamic signage workflow and discover how the growing digital out-of-home market fits into the imaging business, according to an SGIA release.
Most graphic imagers report they are not currently offering electronic signage/dynamic display (82 percent), according to SGIA's 2010 Technology Adoption Survey. However, one third of these graphic imagers plan to eventually adopt the technology. Of those who currently offer this technology, an overwhelming 77 percent expect this to be a growing part of their business.
"Graphic producers have existing relationships with clients and should want to offer a full suite of signage," DSA executive director David Drain said. "They also are looking for new product offerings and growth areas. Digital signage has experienced tremendous growth and interest over the last several years."
The DSA Digital Signage Zone will provide an educational setting for Expo attendees to experience all of the requirements needed to manage and display dynamic content. Participants will meet leaders in the digital signage industry, establish contacts for future partnerships and test out the latest technologies.
These companies are among those scheduled to participate in the Zone:   • 3M • Black Box • Clarke Systems • Daktronics • Ingram Micro • Keywest Technology • Microspace Communications • Nanonation • NEC • Symon
In addition to the DSA Digital Signage Zone, SGIA will offer four more sales-free Expert Advice Zones at the Expo, tailored to each of the diverse specialty imaging communities.
