Carl's Jr. in Mexico goes Swiss for digital menu boards

Junior Foods, which operates the Carl's Jr. quick-service restaurant franchises in Mexico, has opted for the QL Digital Signage platform from Switzerland-based Navori Digital Signage to power the chain's digital menu board and advertisement screens, according to an announcement from Navori. Navori certified partner Megapantallas de Mexico SA de CV performed the entire project integration for the Meixco-based Junior Foods.

MDM CEO Gerardo Ylizaliturri said that "after some bad experiences with other vendors, Junior Foods was initially very skeptical" about the project.

"The short learning curve of the software was part of the decision; after half an hour of training the marketing manager was up and running the system," he said. "Ten days after a success-ful pilot project of one month we got clearance from Junior Foods Company and NAVORI QL is now operational running the QSR Signage in all 37 Carl's Jr. franchises, with further expansion ahead."

According to Guillermo Orellana, Navori's sales manager for South America, his company's QL Digital Signage software is particularly well suited for the QSR market, with its ability to implement data feeds and real-time information, both centrally managed at marketing level or locally by the franchise manager.

"Pricing and promotions, cross marketing and ads can be scheduled centrally, and local price changes or events can be easily updated and out of stock items are simply removed from the menu board, Orellana said. "Along with the play-out quality of NAVORI QL this thrives food and certainly side-order sales, resulting in more than positive turnover statistics."
