Canadian telecommunications company Shaw recently deployed interactive digital signage driven by Matrox M-Series multidisplay graphics cards in six of its Western Canadian stores, according to an announcement from Matrox Graphics.
Integrator Trapeze, a full-service marketing agency contracted by Shaw alongside store-designer Breakhouse, selected M9188 and M9148 cards to power 30 total setups across the chain of retail outlets.
In each store, a 20-monitor band powered by M9188 octal-monitor graphics cards surrounds customers with social media information displayed overhead. Customers can use a touchscreen to browse through Shaw's different products and services on one of five quad-display information pods powered by M9148 quad-monitor cards. In addition, Matrox PowerDesk software, which comes with M-Series cards and other Matrox multimonitor solutions, is used to manage each output.
"The M9148 card, through PowerDesk, let us define a single virtual display in any configuration we could imagine and provided fanless, high-reliability service," Trapeze digital signage expert Ian Langdon said in the announcement. "Matrox provided us with a worry-free way of interfacing the displays with the operating systems."
