Digital signage software provider Net Display Systems recently announced that Louis van Geldrop, who led the company as CEO for nearly 20 years, has retired as of Nov. 30. Willie Jan Bons, formerly the head of development at NDS, succeeded van Geldrop as CEO effective Dec. 1.
As co-founder, van Geldrop helped start the company in 1994 and "has made NDS the successful and financially stable company it is today," the company said in the announcement. He will remain active with the company as a member of its board.
The retirement of van Geldrop has led to a number of changes in the management of NDS. In addition to Bons' elevation, Bjørn Pieper has been appointed chief commercial officer of the company, and Arthur Damen will take on the role of chief marketing officer.
Bons is an NDS veteran who started at the company 18 years ago as a software developer and who has been head of development since 2010. He will combine his new role with his current responsibilities as CTO.
"With these people, we have a team with enormous experience and expertise in the digital signage market and we are well prepared to set the next step in growing the business," Bons said in the announcement. "Of course, we will continue to do what we are good at: building superior software for simple to complex and mission critical digital signage solutions."
