Embedded platform and integration services provider Advantech today announced a strategic alliance and cooperation with Net Display Systems and the compatibility of Advantech digital signage media players with the NDS PADS digital signage software. This certified solution was first showcased at Integrated Systems Europe 2013.
NDS has successfully tested and certified Advantech's digital signage media players ARK-DS520, ARK-DS220 and ARK-DS762. PADS software enables management of signage content via its native data integration and support for interactivity features.
The compatibility of these players with NDS PADS software is intended to allow system integrators and end users to set up a reliable digital signage application in no time, the announcement said.
Among the three certified Advantech media players, ARK-DS220 and ARK-DS520 are powered by an Intel Atom processor with integrated NVIDIA ION2 graphic module for full-HD playback. ARK-DS220 is compliant with Intel's OPS; its slot-in module design effectively lowers deployment and field maintenance costs to simplify device installation, usage, maintenance and upgrades. From the same series, ARK-DS520 features a rich combination of video output interfaces for dual display, is highly expandable via the internal Mini PCIe interface and has a low-profile design for easy installation. On the high-end side, the ARK-762 combines high processing and graphics performance (Intel third-generation Core i) with rich I/O and extra flexibility via optional expansion modules. The ARK-DS762 can support three HDMI independent displays, and supports Microsoft Kinect technology.
At Advantech's stand during ISE 2013, NDS has demonstrated its PADS software compatibility with the ARK-DS520 and ARK-DS762 as restaurant and transportation signage applications.
