Elo Touch Solutions, a global supplier of touch-enabled technology, has launched new interactive digital signage and mobile touch-computing tablet products designed to help retailers enhance their customer experience and drive sales efficiency, according to a company announcement today.
Elo is leveraging its point-of-sale, point-of-information and interactive digital signage platforms that it says are intuitive, reliable and secure. Elo's architecture delivers broad flexibility of acoustic, capacitive, infrared, optical, projected and resistive touch technologies which adapt to a variety of retail environments where mobility, design style, lighting, moisture, gloves and ease of deployment can all be taken into account to address particular retailer requirements, the company said.
"Elo's millions of real-life retail installations all over the world provide unique insight for our next generation of touch innovation," CEO Craig Witsoe said.
Elo's new 70-inch interactive digital sign, the 7001L, is thin at less than 4 inches and bright at 700 lumens, and it sports a durable steel chassis and tempered pure glass touchscreen, the company said. Optical technology provides multitouch and gesture support for consumer and retail associate ease of use by recognizing a touch with a finger, gloved hand, prosthetic, stylus, credit card and/or pen. Two optional, slide-in computing modules feature Intel Core i3 or i5 processors to enable the 7001L to become an integrated all-in-one unit with simplified installation and maintenance. The 7001L also supports the Intel Open Pluggable Specification to integrate with other OPS-compliant computing modules. Available worldwide in about two months, pricing for the new 7001L starts at $11,195. Elo demonstrated the new 70-inch interactive digital touch display in booth at the National Retail FEderation's BIG Show earlier this month in New York City.
Also, in support of new interactive digital signage deployments, Elo is offering on-site warranty repair services. The Elo On-site Exchange Program provides support with next-business-day advance replacement and all related shipping charges prepaid by Elo. An authorized technician will arrive at the end user location, take possession of the warranty return unit and provide a new or equivalent unit, and coverage is valid for the life of the standard three-year warranty or can be extended by purchasing a one-year or two-year warranty extension.
