Yorktel, a provider of video managed services, announced it will showcase its full suite of hosted media solutions at GovComm 2012, a conference that provides information on audiovisual and information communications to technology managers, end users, and procurement officers in the government and military sectors. It's being held at the Walter E. Washington Convention Center in Washington, DC, Nov. 28-29.
Yorktel provides a suite of turnkey professional media services for the creation, production and distribution of audio and video communications. The company, which manages more than 13,000 endpoints in 84 countries, said it empowers national, regional and local government agencies to take full advantage of the myriad benefits of secure video communications
"Video is becoming pervasive as agencies of all sizes, from the military and federal level to local municipalities, embrace visual communication solutions for collaboration with both internal and external constituencies," said Bin Guan, Yorktel's CTO. Yorktel said it has already implemented solutions and services for its federal customers that have enabled them to communicate with geographically displaced personnel and experience video quality that's equivalent to in person collaboration. The solutions let federal agencies experience faster reaction time to emergency situations, increase departmental efficiency, achieve faster decision-making, more efficient employee training, and increased content sharing, the company said.
"We understand that funding for technology initiatives can be limited; budget constraints are felt at the federal, state and local level. The benefit of visual communications solutions is that you are able to effectively reduce costs without sacrificing security or efficiency," Guan said.
