ViewSonic Corp., a global provider of computing, consumer electronics and communications solutions, announced at this year's Digital Signage Expo in Las Vegas an ultra-narrow, 55-inch, LED backlit LCD commercial display with Intel OPS compatibility. ViewSonic also launched the NMP570w, a new media player that can connect to content found on the Web and incorporate it into any digital signage display, showing content found on cloud devices, such as computers, smart TVs and mobile phones.
The new CDX5550-L 55-inch slim bezel display targets the video wall industry, providing high- definition brightness at 700 nits and a color contrast ratio of up to 4000:1, the company said. The energy-saving LED backlighting and multiple video inputs (HDMI, VGA, DVI, S-Video, YPbPr and CVBS) provide bold picture quality, and the display also features Intel's OPS slot for easy integration with any OPS compatible media player, according to ViewSonic.
The new NMP570w smart media appliance is HTML5- and SMIL-compatible and has built-in screen templates for both portrait and landscape mode. The included HTML5 smart widget plug-ins, specifically created for the digital signage industry, provide useful plug-ins to news, weather, clock, calendar and RSS feeds. The NMP570w's media support, which includes MP3, JPEG, WMV and H.264, ensures all connected files can be shown across many screens.
