KIOSKCOM: DIGI Award winners announced

• 16 Oct 2008

NEW YORK — Yesterday at The Digital Signage Show, leaders in the digital signage industry were honored at the first-ever ".5 edition" of the DIGI Awards. Winners in 17 categories, ranging from Corporate Application to a special judges’ award for Innovation in Digital Signage Sourcing, are chosen based on entries, the number of which exceeded 100 for the first time this year.

Highlights of the ceremony included Acceleroptics’ win in the Best Product, Screen Material category for its XLV-100 digital projection display.

“Projection absolutely extends the reach of digital signage,” said industry expert Lyle Bunn regarding the growing use of projection in applications. This year’s edition is also the first time products have been honored in their own categories.

Another interesting and award-winning application was the clever “I Can Play Piano” solution created for Best Buy by Modernistic.

Other winning companies included Digital Display and Communication, which won in three categories, Stratacache, Omnivex, Digital Display Group, Scala, C-nario, OpenEye Global, Artisan Complete, Reactrix Systems, NEC and Admira.
